Project Title: Dodge 360 roots style blower intake.

Portfolio Preparation, Ivy Tech Community Collage.

Project Overview:  This project is to design a roots style blower intake for a Dodge 360 V8 motor. The reason for this is because there is not one available for this application commercially.
Statement of Development:  Along with the design challenge of this project I want to learn how the sheet metal part of solidworks is used.
Detailed Project Description: I intend to design this intake from scratch. The motor itself will have to be measured along with the intake gaskets and Blower base gasket.
  • I intend to produce a 3D model of the intake.
  • The drawing package for the parts to be machined from.
  Major Tasks and Milestones:
  • Intake gaskets have been purchased and I will take delivery by Wednesday February 1, 2012.
  • The first major project will be to measure the motor itself and the intake gaskets and blower base. I hope to have this done by February 20, 2012.
  • The next major task will be to figure out the size of the Plenum. I will try to have this done by February 25, 2012.
  • By March 20, 2012 I will have figured out what the intake height will be and the location of the blower pulley in relation to the Crank pulley.
  • By April 10, 2012 I should have the design done and ready to complete the drawings.
Resource Requirements: The resources that I will need will be software access and my measuring tools.
